In 2000 I have graduated the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babes” Timisoara, Romania, with the highest qualifying. In 2001 I became a fellow in Gastroenterology, in 2006 specialist, and in 2011 consultant in Gastroenterology. Along with this medical field, I have started my second specialty of Medical Oncology (2009), becoming specialist in 2012. My activity is taking place in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Emergency County Hospital “Pius Branzeu” Timisoara, Romania, where we have developed recently the Digestive Oncology Unit. My daily work consists in treating both gastroenterological and oncologic patients and performing diagnostic and therapeutic maneuvers of digestive endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. Since 2001 I am activating as assistant professor at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, where I am performing my teaching activity with the students of the fifth year of medical school and my research work. In 2007 I have sustained my PhD Project entitled „Clinical-pathologic and prognostic study of early and advanced gastric cancer”. Futhermore, my professional activity has materialized in numerous scientific papers published “in extenso” in international journals with impact factor, books and monographs in both national and international publishing houses and also, participation with papers to significant medical congresses in my domains of specialization. Besides this research work, I am participating to numerous Postgraduate Courses that keep me up-to-date with the novel literature data in the field. My fields of interest encounter digestive oncology, gastric cancer, tumor angiogenesis, immunohistochemical and other prognostic markers in various cancers, inflammatory bowel diseases and upper digestive bleeding.
