The scientific interest during the first years of research has been focused on the study of factors that modulate proliferative processes using various experimental models in vivo and in vitro. In the last decade, the scientific activity has been more focused on liver and colorectal cancer in humans. Several studies have been performed on the influence of sex steroid hormones on the development of these tumors. In addition, the therapy and pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma have been widely studied. Moreover, studies on the policies of organ allocation for liver transplantation have led to the publication of several scientific papers in this field of research. Recently, humans studies on dietary aspect in celiac disease and in the field of artificial nutrition have been performed.
