With a biologist degree in Italy, upon her PhD in 1984 at University of Trieste, Italy, and specialization in Biomedical technologies at the University o Florence in 1993, Valli De Re was assumed as a permanent executive researcher at the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico, National cancer institute, Aviano, Italy, where she initiated a laboratory of experimental oncology. Over the last 10 years, he has focused her scientific interests on the topics related to gastroenteric tumors, with a particular attention to gastric cancer. With her expertise in molecular biology, immunogenetics and proteomics, she has established a series of platforms for preclinical evaluation of markers and pathological researches for tumor development and progression and precocious diagnosis and prognostics markers. She developed natural killer/HLA evaluation, immunoglobulin, and T-cell receptor analysis, evaluation of E-Cadherin alteration, proteomics pathways, and transfer her expertise in Tumor-related infective agents such as HIV, EBV and HCV to Helicobacter Pylori and autoimmune model for tumor progression to gastric cancer pathology. During the same period, she trained six of graduate students including a PhD on E-Cadherin alterations in sporadic gastric cancer, filed two of patent applications, published numerous SCI journal papers and book chapters, edited/reviewed for several academic journals, coordinated/participated in several EU/national projects, and received some honors including better comunication presented by a young research: (1989): at the III Convegno Internazione sull'AIDS, (1994) XXX Congresso Nazionale di Reumatologia, (2001) VIII Congresso Nazionale dell’Associazione Italiana per le lotta alle crioglobulinemie. Innovative, translational and longstanding research has ever been a pursuit in her career.
