With a medical degree in University of Ioannina, Greece, upon his PhD at University of Athens, Greece, Christos Triantos is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, in the Medical School of the University of Patras in Greece. In 2003, he received a Scholarship from the Hellenic Association for the study of Liver Diseases and worked as a Clinical Research Fellow (to prof. AK. Burroughs) at the Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Unit, Royal Free Hospital, London, UK. His scientific interests are focused on portal hypertension in patients with liver diseases, management of chronic hepatitis, liver cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD member) and he is a member of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO member), the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology, the Hellenic Association for the Study of the Liver, the European Association for the study of the liver (EASL) and the American Association for the study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).He has 116 publications in peer-reviewed journals and he has edited/reviewed for many academic journals.
