Dr. Cosimo Sperti is a member of the pancreatic surgical team at the 3rd Surgical Clinic of the University of Padua, Padova, Italy. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Padua in 1979, Dr. Sperti took Post-graduate degree in General Surgery, and in Oncology at the University of Padua. Dr. Sperti has a strong research and clinical interest in pancreatic cancer and hepatobiliary malignancies. He is involved in testing innovative technology in diagnosing and staging pancreatic tumors, pancreatic cystic neoplasms, in evaluating results of surgical treatment and follow-up of patients with pancreatic cancer. Dr. Sperti is member of the Italian Society of Surgery (SIC), Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO), Italian Association of the Study of the Pancreas (AISP), European Pancreatic Club (EPC), International Association of Pancreatology (IAP), European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), International Society of Surgery (ISS). Author or co-Author of more than 600 original articles, abstracts or book chapters, mainly in the field of pancreatic neoplasms. Member of the Editorial Board of 10 international Journals, and reviewer of several academic journals, mainly in the surgical, oncological and gastroenterological sciences.
