With a MD and a PhD, Zhengwen Liu is a Professor of Medicine and a Chief-Physician at the Department of Infectious Diseases, First Affiliated Hospital, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China. Over nearly 30 years, he has focused his scientific interests on the topics related to life-threatening infectious viral diseases including viral hepatitis and liver diseases. With his expertise in molecular biology and clinical medicine, he has performed a series of studies pertinent to disease diagnostics/therapeutics and mechanisms of pathogenesis, trained tens of postgraduate students including PhD and MS on internal medicine, published numerous SCI journal papers, reviewed for many academic journals, and received many academic honors including Grade 1, 2 and 3 Awards in Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province (2010, 2012, 2012). Innovation and translation in disease- and patient-oriented research have ever been a pursuit in his academic career.
